Samadhi Gung Fu recognizes the necessity to work with all aspects of the self and put them together in physical movement.
Meditation sessions and techniques bring the individual into full awareness of the present moment and the essence of one's being. (Whatever exists inside us that makes our arms and legs move, our heart beat and defines us and a being.) Some may call it a soul, a spirit, a being, a person, etc. We are focused on teaching students and practitioners to become fully aware of the self, their energy and the extraordinary capabilities that we may ignore, if not for an experience such as this. We first put the individual in contact with that energy and gradually teach them to combine the spiritual self with the physical self in movement.
Some students will go on to learn Self Healing and even Energy Healing of others. Some students choose to learn natural self defense techniques, if this path suits them.
The experience of Samadhi Gung Fu is one of awakening to the energy within, becoming mindful of and completely present in the moment. I have found it to be a powerful tool to minimize the effects of negative experiences and relationships and to improve focus on the present task.
Samadhi Gung Fu teaches us to acknowledge the negative and peacefully move past it to the positive.

Using martial arts in daily life and activities is more common than most think of, as they only think of the motions and actions of fighting and defense. This is because most people do not recognize the true purpose and methods of martial arts training, to avoid and prevent conflict before it starts. A true martial artist will master this principle before learning any methods of attack. This focus provides the everyday ability of better planning, clearer thinking, and ultimately better decisions.
The second part of the benefits for daily life, is the more obvious health benefits. In the practice of martial arts one must realize that sometimes conflict is unavoidable, and thus the need for physical methods of attack and defense. Practicing these methods on a regular basis not only prepares one for such a need, but keeps the mind and body in optimal condition.
When these two benefits are recognized and utilized to their fullest benefit one achieves a great understanding and respect for all things around them. Leading some to the last benefit, a better understanding of the self, and one's beliefs. At this level one knows their skills, their limitations, their strengths, and their weaknesses. From this one gains a true understanding of what they believe in, fight for, and protect. Without this final level of understanding, any amount of training and conditioning is without merit.
To gain these benefits is from a two fold combination, the martial art form itself must reinforce the principles, and the instructors must display and teach them to the students. Through this the student gains respect for the form, the instructors, as well as the fellow students. From respect stems understanding and appreciation, and thus the true benefits of the study.
The principles of Samadhi Gung Fu promote and reinforce these benefits to the fullest, and thus allowing the practitioner to acquire the single understanding of the self.
